This nickname refers to a historical event that occured in 1540 and was led by the emperor Charles V. Ghent is a fabulous place full of history. During our visit we will see: San Bavon Cathedral where we can find the famous painting “The Ghent Alterpiece” or the “Adoration of the Mystic Lamb”, the Belfort Bell Tower, the Council that has a Gothic part and also a Renaissance part. We will visit as well the St. Nicholas Church, the Masons’ Guild Hall, the Pier Of The Herbs, the Meat Market and finally we will end the tour in the Flanders Counts’ Castle.
