Day1:Hanoi

Arrival Upon arrival at Noi Bai Airport, you will meet your guide and driver and travel by car to your hotel. Accommodation: Hotel in Hanoi Room is at your disposal from 14:00 only

Day2:Hanoi

In the morning, you will begin your half day discovery of the capital with Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum - a tribute to the architecture of Lenin Mausoleum in Moscow, his traditional stilt house and the One-Pillar Pagoda - built in the 11th century. Later on, you will visit the Ethnology Museum. Created in November 1997 at the Francophonie Summit, it is both a research center and a public museum featuring the 54 ethnic groups found across Vietnam. The afternoon is free at your own leisure. Notes: - The Mausoleum is closed on Monday and Friday. Easia will arrange a visit outside. - Every year, the monument will be closed between mid-September and mid-December for regular restoration and preservation of the presidential remains, which is the same as that of Lenin Mausoleum in Russia (exact dates to be checked each year). - To be allowed to enter the mausoleum, you must cover your legs, stand in pairs in silence without crossing your arms, or putting your hands in your pockets - The Ethnographic Museum is closed on Monday

Option: Hanoi through the ages with a Polaroid

You will start the day with your Polaroid heading to the old city gate before walking through an old neighborhood and discover a small, bustling market. Then, after visiting one of the oldest temples in Hanoi, you will stroll through the small alleys of the Old Quarter, where you'll see (and possibly buy from) many food-stalls and street-vendors. As you walk, you will also visit some of the most iconic monuments of the city from different eras, from an old Chinese-style temple to a French-inspired colonial hotel. Occasions to use the Polaroid are countless, but keep in mind that you will have to snap a few specific places mentioned in your "Polaroid Pack" to get free tea or coffee. You will finish the walking tour at the Opera house. Option: Backstreet adventure by Minsk

Your Minsk and driver will be ready for you right outside of the hotel. Sitting on the back of a Soviet-era Minsk, you will travel via backstreets to some virtually unknown parts of Hanoi, ride through the maze of narrow, zigzagging alleyways, have random opportunities to interact with local people and experience the good, the bad and even the quite weird aspects of the city, just as it is. You will travel through the black market section of Hanoi, meet a local in a remote area of the city and then continue around all of the must-see highlights of the capital before stopping at West Lake to experience the local food. You will return to your starting point via the famous Long Bien Bridge and have time to take some pictures. During the tour, you will try traditional Vietnamese dishes from finger foods to the legendary egg coffee or some other traditional drinks. Day3:Hanoi-HaiPhong-LanHaBay

In the morning, you will travel by private vehicle without guide to Hai Phong and arrive around noon. There, you will embark on a cruise in the must-see Lan Ha Bay, a part of Halong Bay. This world-famous bay is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Vietnam, with its giant rock islets covered in luxuriant vegetation overlooking the waters. Halong Bay includes some 1,900 islands and islets of rocky peaks, often uninhabited and unvisited. This scene creates a spectacular marine landscape, which earned it UNESCO World Heritage status in 1994. You will be served lunch and dinner aboard with excellent and freshly caught seafood from the bay. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner Accommodation: Overnight on the junk

Day4: LanHaBay–HaiPhong–Hanoi-DaNang-HoiAn

Early in the morning and depending on the season, you will wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the aquamarine waters of the bay. Then the cruise will tour around the bay until you disembark at the end of the morning. After that, you will then return to Noi Bai aiport for afternoon flight to Da Nang. Pick up at Da Nang airport and transfer with local guide to hotel in Hoi An. Meal included: Breakfast, brunch Accommodation: Hotel in Hoi An

Day5:HoiAn

In the morning, you will go on a bicycle ride through the rural scenery of Hoi An to Tra Que herb village, known for its aromatic herbs. Join in with the local farmers and observe their daily work of planting and picking vegetables. At lunch, you will have a chance to enjoy the village specialities: tam huu (small skewers of pork and prawns), various kinds of shrimp, pork and herbs, as well as six other dishes of the region. You will return to Hoi An in the early afternoon and have the rest of the day at your leisure to further discover the old streets or relax on the beach. Option: Dinner on the bamboo raft When the sun is going down, you will be picked up to begin your adventure in a bamboo basket boat for about 25 minutes on Coco River to enjoy a beautiful sunset on the river before reaching The Field restaurant located in Hoi An's peaceful countryside. After a nice welcome at the restaurant, you will be invited to sit down on a bamboo raft placed on the surface of the river bank. Fresh food and a daily catch from the surrounding river is cooked and served right to you in this romantic setting. Enjoy your quiet private time with delicious dessert before coming back to your hotel. Notes: In case of bad weather, you will be picked up directly to the restaurant and the dinner will be served under the bamboo gazebo on the lake located in The Field restaurant's garden.

Option: Sunset Cruise on the Thu Bon River In the afternoon, you will reach the dock and embark your wooden boat and sail along the major branch of the lower section of the Thu Bon River. Enjoy the beautiful surrounding where you will see how people live and fish in this area. Your boat trip to Cua Dai Estuary will give your the chance to observe the Bay Mau water coconut forest, the magnificent scenery of the countryside and the activity on Thu Bon River. At sunset, the view is spectacular and you will have time to enjoy this moment of the day with cocktails and snacks on board, before returning to Hoi An.

Day6:HoiAn-DaNang-HoChiMinhCity

At good time, transfer without guide to Danang Airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh city. Arrival and transfer with local guide to the hotel to check in. The balance of day is free at leisure. Meals included: Breakfast. Accommodation: Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

Option: Discover Saigon Nightlife & Food Tasting by Scooter Take an evening scooter ride through this hectic but beautiful metropolis to discover how Ho Chi Minh City nightlife unfolds. From the chaotic traffic of the city center to totally hidden corners; from famous tourist stops to the trendiest hangout places for Saigonese people; you will travel through 4 central districts of Ho Chi Minh City (Districts 1, 4, 3 and 2). You will first scooter your way through the very small and typical alleys of District 4 before stopping at a popular streetside local seafood restaurant to taste some trendy Vietnamese dishes like fried pine nuts or steamed clams with lemongrass. Then, the tour will take you to a place often visited by locals to try the traditional Vietnamese pancakes called banh xeo. After that, the driver will take you to a local coffee shop for some live music and your night will end with a stop at a local smoothies shop or a craft beer.

Day7:HoChiMinhCity

You will leave early in the morning heading towards the Cu Chi Tunnels, located one hour from Ho Chi Minh City. Originally dug by hand by the Viet Minh (Resistance force) during the French Indochina War, this network of underground tunnels was expanded during the Vietnam War. At its peak, it was 200-kilometers long, 3-to-4-meters deep and was very well equipped, including meeting rooms and medical and sanitary posts. Today it is one of the largest historical sites of the Vietnam War. You will begin the visit by watching a documentary on the tunnels and the war in the 60s-70s, then you can pass through various narrow underground ducts in order to discover the rooms: offices, kitchens, meeting rooms, weapons stores and even hospitals. At the end of the tour you will have the chance to taste the specialty of Cu Chi, the khoai my luoc (boiled cassava), a Vietnamese dish eaten daily during the war. After your visit, you will return to Ho Chi Minh City. Meals included: Breakfast Accommodation: Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

Option: Explore District 5 In Depth Head to District 5 and start your stroll down a small alley to discover the life of the locals. Continue along the streets of Cho Lon (Chinatown) and enjoy the living, breathing, authentic traditions of this former Chinese village. Zigzagging between small streets and local businesses, you will arrive at a traditional medicine shop, where you can rest with a cup of hot tea. Then, passing by a stunning Chinese pagoda, which you must visit, make your way to the local market before heading to a local cafe to wrap up the activity.

Day8:HoChiMinh-BenTre-HoChiMinh

In the morning you will depart from Ho Chi Minh City to explore Ben Tre in the Mekong delta, also known as the “Green Venice” of Vietnam. After visiting a brick factory in Phong Nam where bricks are still hand-made, step onto a boat for a cruise along the Chet Say river (one of the Mekong’s arms). You will make several stops along the way to discover different local workshops, allowing you to understand better the specialities of the local economy. The boat will then cross a small canal and stop at a small village, where you will continue your discovery of the delta by visiting a workshop specializing in carpetweaving. You will even be able to try this activity yourself, before hopping in a xe loi (a kind of motorized rickshaw) or on a bicycle to wander around the village. You will see traditional farms, rice fields and vegetable plants, before stopping at a small local restaurant to taste a delicious (and generous) lunch made of regional specialties, such as “elephant-ear fish” and freshwater shrimps. In the afternoon you will get back on the sampan for some leisure time along the narrow canals. You will travel back to Ho Chi Minh City by car.

Siem Reap Extension

Day1:HoChiMinhCity-SiemReap

At good time, travel without guide to Ho Chi Minh City airport for the flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival Airport, you will meet your guide and driver and travel by car to your hotel.

Day2:SiemReap

This morning, you will travel on a road surrounded by hundred years old’s huge trees. All of a sudden, it will appear a majestic stone door, enter Angkor Thom called “the big city”. Magically emerging from nowhere, admire the massive curious smiling faces carved in stone - the Bayon Temple, built around the 12th - 13th century. This amazing edifice is surrounded by 54 towers, each of them adorned with 4 faces. After visiting the Bayon temple, you will travel to the Baphuon, a temple mountain built in the 11th century, whose restoration, lead by French architects ended not so long ago. Then, admire the Terrace of the Elephants, which with its length of 350 meters, was used for royal audiences and public ceremonies. Continue your visit to the Terrace of the Leper King, built in the 12th century, covered by magnificent Apsara sculptings. In the afternoon, visit the most famous temple: Angkor Wat. Starting by the central aisle, you will realise soon how huge is it. The architectural achievement is also artistic, from the wonder of all the structure but also to the little details all over it. Finish the day by visiting Ta Prohm, a temple which has been eaten by the tropical nature. Nearby the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the gondola boat will collect you at the pier, and you will be welcomed with a cold hand-towel and a cool fresh drink. During the one-hour navigation, you will have a chance to admire the stunning sunset view from the water to the jungle surrounding the area. You will make a short stop to visit one of the beautiful corner temples (Prasat Chrung) of Angkor Thom Wall, where you will enjoy the tranquil atmosphere without the crowd. 

Option: Lunch in a private house at Srah Srang During your day of rigorous temple explorations around the majestic Angkor Archaeological Park, you will pass by the Srah Srang baray, or reservoir (used as royal baths during the ancient Khmer Empire), where you can enjoy a private and relaxing picnic lunch in a charming, Khmer timber house, far away from the crowds. After arriving at the banks of Srah Srang baray, you will have a short, 10-minute walk through the local village to reach the house, which is located on the border of the reservoir. The house offers an authentic and comfortable atmosphere, with furniture and decorations made from local materials, along with a tropical garden and beautiful views of the reservoir. Meals included: picnic lunch

Day3:SiemReap

Option: Discovery of Prek Toal and local lunch in a floating house Your journey starts in the morning, departing from Siem Reap and taking you to Chong Kneas, where you will hop on a boat that will take you directly to Prek Toal. During the boat journey, discover the unique way of life of the Tonle Sap villages, where everything floats - from the church to the school, to the pharmacy! Arriving in the floating village of Prek Toal, you will have time to discover different aspects of village life: fish farming, fishing operations, spirit houses, pagodas, etc. Your experience continues with an authentic home-cooked lunch in a peaceful and private setting not far from the village. The view on the lake from the floating house is amazing and the local team, inhabitants of the village, will welcome you with smile and “Soum Sva Kum” (‘Welcome’ in Khmer). After the lunch and a short boat ride, you will enjoy a very special activity in the village: a water hyacinth weaving workshop. A villager will teach you the traditional way of turning the water hyacinth plant into a colorful household item, that you could bring back home as a souvenir. Then it’s time to wave goodbye to this unique, floating world and head back to the mainland by boat where you will meet your driver and head back to Siem Reap. Meals included: Lunch with beverage (1 beer or 1 soft drink per person)
