The Verandah Resort & Spa, located just 20 minutes from Antigua’s V.C. Bird International Airport (ANU), is a 30-acre, eco-luxury All-Inclusive resort that opened in October 2007. Situated on Antigua’s northeast coastline and bordered by Devil’s Bridge National Park with its dramatic landmark rock arch, The Verandah is an ideal vacation for family getaways or romantic escapes.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodations: The Verandah Resort & Spa has 186 villa-style Suites that have vaulted ceilings and Caribbean décor with bamboo and rattan accents. Built as side-by-side, single-story duplexes, the resort’s one-bedroom Suites offer the look and feel of a Caribbean villa while comfortably accommodating up to four guests with a king-size bed or two double beds and queen sleeper sofa. All Suites come equipped with LCD satellite televisions, air conditioning, ceiling fans, in-room safes, direct-dial telephones, mini refrigerators, microwaves, coffeemakers, hairdryers, irons and ironing boards. The different Suite categories are grouped by views, and include: Superior Waterfront, Waterfront, Waterview and Hillside.

Perfect for families and small gatherings of up to six guests, six Two-Bedroom Villas are included in the resort’s inventory. Each Villa has a living/dining area, a flat-screen television and a verandah. Kitchens are fully equipped with a breakfast bar with seating for two, a microwave oven, a two-burner stovetop, a full-sized refrigerator, a toaster, a coffee maker, granite countertops and a dining table with seating for up to six guests. The master bedroom has a king- size bed, a private verandah, a flat-screen television and an en suite shower room with two pedestal sinks. The second bedroom offers twin beds, an en suite bathroom with a bathtub/shower combo, a flat-screen television and a large walk-in closet. Additionally there is a pull-out queen sofa bed in the living room with flat-screen television.

The Verandah just debuted six new Two-Bedroom Plunge Pool Villas in 2017. These Villas are perched high above the main beach with partial water views. They have all the amenities and facilities of the regular Two-Bedroom Villas, but with updated décor, furnishings, and a large front terrace with full patio seating and individual plunge pools.

One last option for families are the new Family Suites, which sleep up to 5 guests and feature two double beds and a queen sleeper sofa. These rooms offer all the amenities of our other Suites.

 

Dining : The Verandah Resort & Spa has four restaurants and a beach grill.

Seabreeze, the resort’s main restaurant, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It offers a wide range of choices that are sure to please guests of all ages. A fully air-conditioned dining room is enhanced by light pine pergolas, ceiling fans, exposed beams and lofty vaulted ceilings for an airy, outdoor feeling. Seabreeze offers buffet-style dining seven days a week with internationally themed evenings.

Nicole’s, our fine restaurant, offers a blend of elegantly presented, modern French and Italian cuisine in an air-conditioned setting. Warm red walls and dark wood trim create a cozy ambiance, and rattan, bamboo and upholstered furnishings encourage a welcoming Caribbean atmosphere. For a $40 (USD) per person surcharge, guests can celebrate a special occasion or have a romantic private dinner. Dinner reservations are required.

The Buccaneer, an a la carte dining restaurant, serves Caribbean-inspired, family-friendly fare. Dinner reservations are required.

The Beach Bar & Grill, perched above the Watersports Beach, offers spectacular views of the bay along with light lunches, snacks, beer and alcoholic cocktails. An evening grill menu is served as well. Dinner reservations are required.

Wadadli Snack Shack, situated directly on Rasta Beach and adjacent to the Rasta Bar, is the newest casual culinary offering. Enjoy a variety of grilled snacks while relaxing on the beach with views of the turquoise cove. Open from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Swimsuits are welcome.

Afternoon tea is served by the main pool bar daily from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

 

Dress Code: During the day, the dining dress code requires covered and dry bathing suits and shoes to be worn in all restaurants. After 6:30 p.m. a ‘Resort Casual’ dress code applies. Ripped jeans, beach flip flops, all beachwear, t-shirts and gym sneakers are not considered ‘Resort Casual.’ At Nicole’s restaurant, dress is elegant (long pants and a collared shirt are required for men).

 

BARS AND LOUNGES: The resort has four bars and lounges with a wide variety of signature cocktails, name-brand liquors, wines, beer and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests can get into the island spirit at the beachside Rasta Bar. Order a cocktail with your toes in the sand while only steps away from the warm azure water.

The resort additionally features an outdoor bar and The Common, a lounge area adjacent to the main pool. Here, guests can enjoy refreshments during the day and evenings as well as live entertainment on select nights, ranging from fire-limbo dancers and steel drums to a variety of live music.

The Beach Bar, perched just above the Watersports Beach, opens daily at 10:00 a.m. and serves up your favorite tropical cocktails all day long.

The Seabreeze Bar offers a variety of wines, beer and cocktails during meal times.

SPA Tranquility Body & Soul Spa offers eco-conscious, restorative treatments for the body and skin. Treatments include a well-being massage, a Sabai Stone treatment, a caviar and pearl anti-aging facial and a green coffee wrap designed to reduce cellulite and water retention. Spa Tranquility uses Pevonia Botanica products. A full-service salon, offering hair and nail treatments, is also available.
